Very steep path to Penyfan from the Whitebrook road

A sign on the bank pointing along the path shows 0.8 km to Penyfan. Only the metric distance is shown. The ascent gets steeper out of view ahead. Wooden steps made the ascent of the path straightforward if slow. The descent from the top of the hill was less easy. I decided the best way to avoid sliding down the steep hill was a sideways approach, which kept me on my feet!
