A double-aperture postbox facing Stratford's main post office, it has been painted gold as part of Royal Mail's celebrations of the London 2012 Olympics. A box was painted gold in the home town of each British Olympic and Paralympic gold medal-winner. This one, however, is an additional gold box, marking not a particular individual but Stratford as the home of the London 2012 games. It is the nearest box to the Olympic Park. (See Image)
