Cast and wrought iron are the materials used to construct the gates at the beginning of a short drive to the 'old cemetery' off Bicker Road. The posts have the makers name cast into them as being "JOHN ELWELL-MAKER-BIRMINGHAM". The 'kissing' gate to the right has been a long time amusement to young children negotiating their way down the path that passes the cemetery and continues toward Northorpe.
