February 1st 2015 was a sunny cold day here in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with occasional bitingly cold gusts of wind. Thus the sight of one daffodil in bloom was a pleasant surprise, a sign that Spring is not far away. Whether Winter lingers long into Spring 2015, or Summer arrives early, the only certainty is increasingly longer duration of daylight.
