Mooring place for small private craft as it was before the permanent decking to access the moorings was added. Behind the boats is the Inner South Pier and beyond that the channel leading from the outer harbour to the inner Harbour. In the distance are the trawlers of the Lowestoft fishing fleet sitting in the Trawl Basin behind the Inner North Pier. 10 years after this photo was taken the Lowestoft Trawler Fleet was no more - a victim of the European Union's fishing policies.
