A view from the rear of the Grade I-listed (shop-bearing) road bridge over the River Witham known as High Bridge. The River Witham is approximately 2.5 metres (8ft) below street level. This picture was taken from one of the two narrow sets of steps that serve pedestrians walking between High Street and one of the riverside paths. Within a minute or so, by either foot or by boat, the entrance/exit into or from Brayford Pool (the basin) can be reached.
