This impressive building has been developed around the original Tudor house built in 1582 by Thomas Smythe and later owned by the Hungerford family. Paul Methuen bought the house in 1745 and it has since remained in the Methuen family for eight generations. The house and park are both open to the public. http://www.corsham-court.co.uk/Court%20history/Commentary.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corsham_Court
