Viewed from this http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4318988 tubular footbridge in September 2014. Oswestry has not been connected to the national railway network since the 1960s. The nearest railway station on the network is in Gobowen. Cambrian Heritage Railways, a registered charity, is working towards reinstating the railway line between Gobowen and Oswestry (of which this line is a small part) to be fully operational by 2017.
