The view of the house is not exactly improved by the insertion of the brick wall in the foreground - compare with http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2828159 - but one can understand the desire to separate the house grounds from the public footpath visible in the foreground. The house dates from the early 18th century and is Listed Grade II. The hood over the doorway is original.
