Private house building in Bourne is now progressing at a faster rate than at any time in its history with many new residential developments springing up around the town. Among them is Hereward Meadow close to the town centre where work began in 2002 on the site of a former nursery complex after glasshouses, outbuildings, concrete roadways and a water tower were demolished to make way for an estate of two and three storey houses, all of which are now occupied.
