A view of the rear of a statue of appreciation entitled "Tribute to the British Miner" by Nickolaos Kotziamanis, a Greek-Cypriot, that was unveiled in October 2003. The statue is 3 metres high and is set facing across the A60 towards Leeming Street, home of Mansfield Museum and The Palace Theatre. It has been suggested that the pick axe depicted here is not of an appropriate size for a miner working in a confined space.
