The new building is on St Michael's Hill, occupying the site of disused ward blocks of the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, the 1960s Focus Centre and two blocks of houses. Preserved somewhere in there is the facade of the listed Old Children’s Hospital. As the steep hill begins, there is a fine view across Bristol.
