Former W H Smith book shop, 15 High Street, Kidderminster

For a good number of years W H Smith used this building for a dedicated book shop, spread over two floors. Their general shop with other items was in much smaller premises in Vicar Street. However in February 2014 the lease of the High Street shop expired and W H Smith decided to move a small selection of books to the Vicar Street shop, into which the local post office has also been crammed. Since Smiths left, the High Street shop has remained empty, joining the large empty stores in adjoining Worcester Street. Sadly Kidderminster no longer has a proper bookshop. The nearest is at Worcester.
