Viewed from Hollow Lane. Stroud Register Office is in a former Victorian school in Parliament Street. The Cotswold stone building was converted to the Register Office in 1995. Often wrongly referred to as a Registry Office, the Register Office is the place to register local births, marriages and deaths, and for civil wedding and partnership ceremonies. There are many other Registrar services, including naming ceremonies, renewal of vows, nationality checking (a service to help those who want to apply for British citizenship), citizenship ceremonies, Coroners' service, searches of the local Births, Marriages and Deaths Register, and data requests by statutory bodies.
