This view includes the Phase I building that now houses the museum’s 22 million zoological specimens stored in alcohol (opened in 2002), the 115 tonne, granite, "2004 Tsunami memorial", a greenhouse on the fringe of the wildlife garden and the official residence (lodge) used by former museum directors. Housing on Queen's Gate forms the backdrop.
