Former public library and council offices, but originally the Rectory. Splendid 18th century five-bay house, added to in 1865-6 by William Chick of Hereford. He built on the large extension on the left. It gives an indication of how grand the vicar of Newent was in times past. The house is in good order, having been subdivided into several units.
