This sign was erected in memory of a retired deputy headmaster, David Clarke. It is surmounted by a carved replica of Chedgrave’s Norman church tower. On the four sides are the different spellings of the parish name, Ceatta graf, Scatagrava, Chattagrava, eventually arriving at Chedgrave. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6675651
