The sign is simple and uncomplicated it depicts the old post-mill which stood north east of the village until 1963, when it was demolished. Another post-mill (Rouse’s Mill) which stood on the heath, south of the village was burnt down in 1880. A third mill, a smock-mill known as Ralph's Mill, stood on The Common until it was pulled down in 1969. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6787256
