The former Paramount Cinema, the last complete Paramount in Britain: latterly the Odeon (future uncertain). 1930-31 by Frank Verity and Samuel Beverly. Art Deco interior by Charles Fox. The ghastly building to the right, projecting out into the road on pilotis, is Commercial Union House by Howell Brooks Tucker & Partners, completed in 1971.
