A very rare Holmes of Norwich single cylinder semi-portable overtype engine that drove a 'turbine' pump in a metal lined well. The engine is on the left. The bottom section of the well with a non-return valve (door) is in the middle and the pump rotor and drive shaft are on the right. This is a unique survivor and there are plans to put weather protection over the engine. It was acquired by the late Bob Morse many years ago and then went to Fleggburgh where it was displayed with other drainage engines. When that collection was dispersed it was bought back for display here. This is an interesting but little known museum with rather limited opening.
