Closed to passengers since 1959, the platforms of Newent station on the GWR Gloucester - Ledbury branch survive beneath this thicket of vegetation. It was all excavated recently by the Canal Society, but needs re-visiting urgently. The Hereford - Gloucester canal, the whitest of elephants, came this way and will again eventually.
