Viewed across the A473 Bryntirion Hill. Pointing along Heol-y-Nant, the sign on the left shows ¼ (mile) to the Newcastle area of Bridgend, and 2¼ to Pen-y-fai (the letter a is missing from the sign). The right turn a few metres ahead is for West Road.
