The sign shows the wall of what some say is the Roman fort of Gariannonum others argue it is Cnobheresburg, but I don’t suppose it matters one way or the other. One person who might have known is Saint Fursey with his bible and staff, pictured in the fore. On the last few yards of the River Waveney before it joins the Yare is a yacht with the Berney Arms mill across the water. Below the name is a Roman helmet and some ivy leaves which may or may not represent St Fursey’s Well in the churchyard, which is festooned with the stuff. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4291518
