Principally a coaching inn on what would have been the main road from London to Lincoln. This main front dates from 1788-9 in Georgian style. The building has now been converted into apartments. Listed Grade II*. The right hand bay with the Venetian window incorporates a former Assize Court and Assembly Room. This feature, together with the large Market Place in the foreground indicates that what is now a relatively small village once had considerable standing.
