The village sign is dominated by Sir William de Bardwell (sometimes Berdewell) with his coat of arms on one side and him on his horse on the other. The historic windmill, the church of Sts Peter and Paul, and the Black Bourn river are there to make the picture interesting. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6744693
