The Museum of Lincolnshire Life is located in these former barracks on Burton Road, 10-15 minutes walk north-east of the Cathedral. This is a southerly view towards the city. These Grade II-listed buildings were completed in 1857 to a design designed by Henry Goddard. It seems that they continued to be used for military purposes until 1963 although they now house artefacts linked to rural and urban life in the county, plus military displays and equipment spanning multiple decades. The Plough Boy pub can be seen at the junction with Upper Leys Road on the right.
