A plaque http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/478357 on the wall records that the school was built in 1834. The adjoining church http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4285510 was dedicated on January 28th 1869. After the school closed, the church was deconsecrated in 2003. Both buildings have been converted to self-catering accommodation to rent.
