Immediately before the entrance to Hexgreave Park (ahead) a finger post announces the commencement of a public bridleway into Hexgreave Park. Strangely, the bridleway is obstructed by a low metal gate which would involve a rider having to dismount to open the gate and to remount having led the horse through the gate. The car ahead is travelling on the A617 in the Kirklington direction.
