The famous Pen-y-ghent Cafe in Horton in Ribblesdale. A popular walkers cafe since 1965, the Pen-y-ghent Cafe offers a clocking out, and back in, safety service at weekends for walkers attempting the Yorkshire Three Peaks walk - for a photo of the antique clock see Image This service is also available on some weekdays by advance booking only - Tel:01729 860333. The Pennine Way also passes the door and the cafe has a book for Pennine Way walkers to sign. The cafe faces Pen-y-ghent, to the right of the camera, but just to the left of the cafe roof, the flat top of Ingleborough can be seen - this is the third of the Three Peaks. The B6479 is the road in front of the camera and despite its 'B' status it carries a huge quantity of heavy quarry and other trucks.
