Situated on the corner of Hulkes Lane, the house, described as a brewery mansion, is a grade II listed building dating from the early 18th century, which was re-fronted in the early 19th century and then in the 20th century underwent alterations and additions as a shop to its front http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-173091-351-high-street- It is also known as Chatham House and according to this https://clairevoyantblog.wordpress.com/investigation-1-351-high-street-rochester/ was built around 1730 by the Hulke family, after whom Hulkes Lane was presumably named.
