Opened in 1884 by the Manchester Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway, later to become the Great Central Railway, on the line from Wigan Central to Glazebrook, this station closed in 1964. View south east towards Hindley South and Glazebrook from the former bridge. The station was in a cutting, now largely filled in.
