Opened in 1868 by the Manchester Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway as the terminus of their line from Hyde via New Mills Central, this station closed in 1970. View east from Station Road towards Birch Vale and New Mills. As the alignment of Station Road has changed since closure of the station, the buffers would have been about here, with the road ahead being on the site of the single platform and line.
