Swaffham Prior is on the edge of the Fens, at the foot of the chalk hills of Newmarket Heath. Though the road to Burwell is only just over 20m/65ft above sea level, there are immense views over the levels. The houses on the edge of Reach (themselves a little above the Fens) show on the skyline to the right.
