Opened in 1848 by the East Lancashire Railway, later part of the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway, on the line from Bury to Bacup, this station closed in 1972. View north east towards Rawtenstall, from a passing steam train. The line was reopened by a heritage railway from Heywood to Rawtenstall but when this image was taken, Ewood Bridge station had not reopened.
