Like many banks Barclays has been cutting its branch network and one of the victims was the St. John's branch in Malvern Road. It is currently available to lease as a shop. In March 2008 this branch was robbed of £4,100 by a Worcester University student who seemed to be making a career from armed robberies of banks, building societies and other business premises.
