Stalker has now been scrapped but was the last of the Landing Ship Tank (LST3) vessels as used extensively in WWII. She was built in Canada, actually missed the war and was mainly used for submarine servicing in HM Naval Base Rosyth. Her machinery was little used and it had been hoped one of her main 2750 horsepower steam reciprocating engines could be saved but it was not to be.
