Hightown Bridge is No 74 crossing the Macclesfield Canal across the Macclesfield Canal. Despites its relative grandeur, it probably originated purely as a farmer's accommodation bridge to allow field access. Now its main purpose is to serve the rather isolated Morley's Importers site* at the end of Morley Drive. Narrowboat "Silhouette" is about to navigate through the bridge hole. He didn't scrape the sides :-) (Morley’s is a leading supplier to bakers, breakfast cereal and food manufacturers, providing a wide range of ingredients selected from over 20 countries around the world by an experienced team of experts. Products include sultanas, raisins, currants, apricots, figs, dates, almonds, hazelnuts, coconut, bananas, apples, cranberries, orange and lemon peel, glacé cherries and many other ingredients, including mincemeats and fruit fillings).
