A narrow, sunken lane - typical of many in this hilly part of Surrey. On the west side, the beeches on the bank 'lean into' the lane. Much of Winterfold Wood is now conifer plantation, and I saw plenty of evidence of recent felling. You are quite high up here - at about 150m - and further south the map shows a spot-height in Winterfold Wood of 207m. Photo taken in mid-November.
