View northward on the West Coast Main line, electrified at the time only to Liverpool via Weaver Junction in 1962, when the loop to the ex-CLC line, visible above, was also electrified. The Class C freight is headed by Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 No. 45391 (built 8/37, withdrawn 2/68).
