Sir Thomas St.Pol, MP for Grimsby and twice Sheriff of Lincolnshire died in 1582, he was a zealous Protestant and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth I in 1580. His wife Faith Grantham was related to the influential Tailor and Wray families in Elizabethan Lincolnshire.
