The 19th century font in Norman style. A careful examination of the remaining section of the original Norman font, to the right, shows that it is considerably shorter than the equivalent section of the replacement, with shorter columns and shallower arches below the columns. The modern version also has fewer columns than the original, and the relationship between the columns and the arches below is different - on the modern version there is one arch to each column, but there is no correlation on the original.
