I took this to exactly match Francis Frith's E221015 taken circa 1955, see http://www.francisfrith.com/search/england/hampshire/exton/photos/exton_E221015.htm . Then, the white house was the Post Office; now it is Bridge Cottage. The house at left is Shoe Cottage (originally thatched). Between them is The Shoe pub (unchanged). The road at left is Beacon Hill Lane.
