This photo was taken in the yard of Preston Circus Fire Station. The Brighton Section of the Cyclists Touring Club used to start their Sunday rides from outside the fire station. On this Sunday a tour of the station had been arranged before the ride started. A member of the club is atop the ladder, and it was then extended to its full height! (There was only the one volunteer for the ride!)
