These particular dwellings stand out from the other parts of the Rodwell Avenue area with its lighter coloured brickwork and styling. The rest of the surrounding houses are a more uniform type. Interestingly, these were late nineteenth century developments; the older houses built before then were demolished and post-war semis now stand.
