The building, with its frontage covered in scaffolding, is the George and Dragon public house. It was built in 1446 and was part of the estate of Peter Taychell, who possessed many mortgages in Sandwich, Ash and Wingham http://www.dover-kent.com/George-and-Dragon-Sandwich.html
