Opened in 1852 by the Newcastle & Carlisle Railway as the terminus of its branch from Haltwhistle, this station closed in 1976. It was reopened as the terminus of the narrow gauge South Tynedale Railway in 1983. View south towards the buffers. The station had previously boasted an overall roof and a small engine shed.
