Old Soar Manor is the remains of a 13th century fortified knight's dwelling. Only part survives, a 'solar' block which would have been the private living quarters of the knight and his family. The Great Hall, which would have been the public part of the building, has been built on by a later house. The ground floor comprises storage space with the living quarters above on the first floor, accessed by a spiral staircase. The property is owned by the National Trust.
