The B4504, the northward extension of Windmill Drive, leads to a grade-separated interchange with the A448 Bromsgrove Highway dual carriageway. These are Redditch New Town roads, whereas Birchfield Road is the old road to Bromsgrove from Headless Cross and Evesham, and now a suburban distributor. Redditch is notable for separating different kinds of traffic including pedestrians: no footways here although there are verges.
