A gondola leaves Greenwich Peninsula station. An endless cable runs around the red pulley at the top of the picture and across the river to the Royal Docks station. The gondola is about to be accelerated and clamped onto the endless cable. On arrival at a station, the gondola is unclamped from the cable, decelerated, and run on a slow moving track to allow passengers to leave and board.
