The emplacement measures 32 feet by 18 feet overall and is spacious internally. Originally designed as a heavy gun emplacement it was adapted for lighter heavy machine guns instead. The large forward loophole has been bricked up and two small loopholes have been set into the fill. The holdfast for the original gun it was designed for are still in situ as can be seen here: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4196438 It has a low porch for an entrance and is over 2 feet thick and shell-proof. It is unique in its design. It is positioned on the embankment of the old railway line.
